Many of Matsue's traditional
Japanese sweets are famous nationwide. Together with Kanazawa's Choseiden
and Nagaoka's Koshi no Yuki, Matsue's Yamakawa is known as one of the three
great "brand name" sweets. Wakakusa and Natane no Sato are two of the brands
preferred by the tea master Lord Fumai and have been passed down to the
present day. Such a diversity of sweets is to be expected in this region
where tea ceremony is so popular. |
